Sizzling steaks and shared laughter

Every month at Bundaleer Aged Care, residents gather for a traditional, social barbeque lunch.

As the delicious aroma of sizzling steaks and sausages, grilled tomatoes and fried mushrooms wafts through the community, residents, families and staff come together to catch up in a relaxed setting that encourages genuine connection.

“The smell of the BBQ reminds me of home on a Sunday afternoon,” says one resident remembering how their family used to gather in the garden.

“The catering team cooks a mean BBQ,” says another! “It’s so lovely seeing everyone enjoying themselves – it’s great food, with great friends!”

Manager, Marsha, says the BBQ is symbolic of the way residents are encouraged to feel at home at Bundaleer Aged Care. “It provides an opportunity for everyone to enjoy an afternoon together in a way that feels fun, inclusive and full of community spirit,” she says.
