Meet dedicated Admissions Officer, Julia
Julia is the first point of contact at Bundaleer Aged Care when new families start to consider residential aged care options for a loved one. Whether it’s an initial phone enquiry, arriving for a tour or moving into the community, she’s there with a welcoming smile and a wealth of information to support each family and make the transition easier.
“Making decisions about aged care can be an emotional time for families. I’m here to help with personalised guidance at every step. I’m always happy to show people around, answer any questions and paint a picture of what life is like at Bundaleer,” she says.
What do you see as the impact of your role?
I help families navigate their journey to aged care, and explain the options available to them. When a new resident is welcomed to our community, I focus on supporting them through the initial stages and making them feel comfortable and confident in their new home.
How do you create a positive environment for the residents?
I go out of my way to get to know residents individually and try to build genuine relationships and trust so that they know I’m there to help. On their first day, I like to be there to welcome them, introduce them to a few neighbours and help them settle in to Bundaleer Aged Care. After they’ve settled in, I’m always available to assist where I can – from encouraging them to partake in some of the activities and outings in our Lifestyle Program, to just having a regular chat and sharing a laugh.
At Bundaleer Aged Care, residents are at the heart of everything we do. We pride ourselves on getting to know and understand individual residents, and supporting them to maintain their interests, routines and connections to the people and places they love.
